Aluminium joinery
Thermally broken door and window systems — Asistal series.
In thermally broken aluminium joinery every profile is made of two separate aluminium shells, one facing out and one facing in. Polyamide bars between them hold the two shells together but do not carry heat across. In the Asistal series, the deeper the profile, the wider this break — and the lower the frame's heat loss.
-
Frame
The fixed frame anchored into the opening in the wall. It carries the window's load into the wall; sashes and fixed glazing sit in it.
-
Sash
The frame of the opening part. Hinges and locking hardware fix to this profile; when it closes, it presses against the frame through its gaskets.
-
Polyamide thermal break
Glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide bars joining the outer and inner aluminium shells. They break the thermal bridge; the wider the break, the lower the frame's U-value (Uf).
-
Insulating glass unit
The insulating glass set into the sash. Units of different thicknesses fit depending on the series — up to 62 mm in TH78.
-
EPDM gaskets
The centre gasket between frame and sash, and the glazing gaskets on both sides of the glass. They make the window airtight and watertight.
-
Glazing bead
The clip-in aluminium bead that holds the glass from inside. The glass is replaced from inside by removing the bead.
Installation
The profiles are cut to size in the shop and their corners crimped; hardware is fitted and the glass set. On site the frame is fixed into the opening plumb and level; the gap between frame and wall is insulated and closed outside with a sealing tape or sealant. Last, the sashes are hung and adjusted.
Published figures
As published by the manufacturer. The profile and glass sections for a given project are set by structural calculation.

When to choose it
For any opening that needs thermal and acoustic insulation. The series is chosen for the insulation level and glass thickness required: TM55 is the slimmest series, and TH78 gives the lowest frame U-value.
